
Biography
Suhayla Hepburn is a writer and artist currently based in The Bahamas. Their creative practice focuses on subverting the expectations of their intersectional identity through personal reflections and self interrogation. Outside of their creative endeavors, Suhayla is dedicated to researching and analyzing the aesthetics of gender and commercialization within Bahamian art and literature. Their credentials include achieving a BA in English from the University of The Bahamas, Catapult Arts 2022 Award, and Central Bank Open Call Competition 2022 1st Award. Their poetry has been exhibited at Historic Nassau (2018) and has been published in Mistake House (2018), Seagrapes in the Time of Moons (2018), Intersect Antigua (2022), and Pree Lit (2022).
